An Ancient Journal
09:08
|
|||
In the library of eternity
The walls have lost their shine
The vines crawl, the moss thrives
Venture alone through halls of divinity
Follow the guidance of a golden twine
It leads you to a door, a passage to your life’s archives
With a journal of old with origin ancient
You enter your past through a soothing chant
In this book a sea of memories sealed
With just a drop this goblet of mine is filled
Mere illusion devoid of progression
For this ink contains no compassion
Its whole purpose stops before a period
Turn the page and throw its existence to oblivion
And though the tale goes on
And though the pages keep turning forever
And although this part is so old
The only thing left is but its true endeavor
Few lines hold no glory
Only words aby for the lost time
A shattered malachite intrigues the reader’s eye
Finds its way deep in a fractured soul
Like tiger-eye, like the leaves of an autumn tree
Eaten by the jaws of time, a faintest memory
Guarded by graphite, now mashed and dissolved
This tale will remain forever untold
And though it’s wrapped by indurated crust
Still made of fragile, lightly torn sheets
And throughout ages it turns into dust
From its remains only one ruby stone beats
And when you lay a glance with eyes of sapphire
Upon these runes, inlayed in fire
But a mildest spark will ignite the flame
And as the pages burn, only ashes remember my name
But in summary
Of the front page
Not a trace...of a tragedy
Dissolved by the age

The Heart of Wood
05:08
|
|||
Deep in the forest a young oak tree
Thriving towards the sun
Her beauty unmatched she wears a lush
Crown of lovely green leaves
Branches push out towards the sky
Roots can be tamed by none
Bark so smooth, kind heartwood
Yet in anguish she grieves
For once she met a bird, woodpecker
With love and trust he flew on her twig
Day by day the bond grew thicker
And when he left the hole was too big
Why is the life this way?
Why is the nature cruel?
Woodpecker bores a hole
Right in the heartwood
So is the life’s way
So is the nature’s rule
Sometimes it might be cold
Sometimes it may seem cruel
But then she felt a climbing squirrel
With hazel fruit to bear the winter
He padded her forsaken barrel
And once again the love embraced her
For this is the life’s way
For this is the nature’s rule
A rodent finds his home
Right in the heartwood
So is the life’s way
So is the nature’s rule
The warmth replaces cold
And revives the heart of wood

I sought the guidance of poetic souls
For something in world blue as eyes of yours
Poets advised me to quest deep and high
To search for solace in ocean and sky
And now in vivid waters I set my journey deep for serenity
I once saw in your eyes
Yet in vain I swim for I can never find this lenity
I once saw in your eyes
And now on meadows I lay under the sky so blue I seek for warmth
I once saw in your eyes
Yet in vain I stare for I can never see what I once saw
And my trust in the poets dies
Even before I pack my goods and chattels I know my quest is futile from start
But still it is better to travel in vain then to bear the heaviness of my heart
I asked for wisdom of artistic kind
To deliver your dazzling eyes from my mind
Artists divulged that beneath and beyond
Hides the allure that can loosen my bond
And now under this soil in blackest filth I breathe yearning for charm
I once saw in your eyes
Yet in vain I mine for there is no gemstone of the same form
I once saw in your eyes
And even above the world I am compelled to reach for Neptune’s grace
I once saw in your eyes
Yet in vain I fly for your eyes are unfound even in space
And my hope in the art dies
And yet everywhere I go, I can see the green grass gazing at the blue sky eternally
And I envy it, for it reminds me of the fading image I had for you and me

Summer's Cold
05:01
|
|||
Oh, this summer, I’m content to spend as winter
Long days creep in to prolong the longing
Night’s too short to allow me to dream
Vicious cold frowns at me every morning
Sun wakes me with its freezing beam
And no birds sing their tunes
Just the sound of chilling air
And the rose that should bloom
Withers down with despair
And the veil upon this land
Spreading wide its bitter rue
But a snowflake on my hand
Cannot turn to lively dew
And the sun shines still
But its warmth misses me
So benign as the smile
I adored upon thee
Not the myriad of stars
Not the moon’s lucid light
Can bring back her sheen
To brighten my night
Oh, this summer, I’m content to spend as winter
Shivering frost where the lake should be
The rimy trail leads to scurry of grieving
Blizzard too strong for my heart to see
Desolating the core of my being
And no cricket in the grass
Will sing me its soothing poem
For his home is frozen ice
Sinking deep in white foam
And I sink in snow as well
It seems as without an end
Oh not even the summer
Can melt my bereavement
And in clouds up high
I can see your cheek
But the clouds turn grim
And send down their icy shriek
In the well I find
Your reflection at last
But the water turns to soil
And it traps you in my past
No spring has ever been so warm
No summer will ever be as cold

The Missing Chapter
05:25
|
|||
In the library of eternity anguish traps the air
Ready to walk away, but stopped by a magic flair
You look down below you, resting at your feet
Untouched by time, a vacant white sheet
In mystery embodied, with grace it reaches you
In your wondrous grasp the letters start to unfold
My name emerges in title of a chapter utterly new
This yarn of mine won’t remain forever untold
And in truth the tale goes on
And indeed the pages keep turning forever
For this part is still newly born
And it will bloom through our conjoined endeavor
Now a malachite shattered no more
Tiger-eye’s rust washed by the tides
The ruby stone will beat forevermore
For your blissful sapphire eyes
And now we stand at the ivy gate
Going through together, writing our fate
